LIPOSOMAX® is a liposomal delivery technology designed to carry nutritional ingredients within an organized phospholipid bilayer. A liposome is a microscopic, spherical vesicle whose membrane is formed by phospholipids with water-attracting heads and oil-attracting tails. When these molecules assemble into a double layer, they create a membrane-like structure that can hold selected nutrients in the internal aqueous space, within the lipid layer, or at the interface between the two regions. This design is intended to help sensitive ingredients remain dispersed and protected as they pass through the gastrointestinal environment.

According to the manufacturer’s sell sheet, LIPOSOMAX® uses true liposomal encapsulation to support gastrointestinal delivery, absorption, and bioavailability. Its distinguishing feature is not simply the addition of fats or emulsifiers. Instead, a proprietary manufacturing process is used to form recognizable hollow, spherical vesicles with an organized lipid membrane. Because this structure resembles biological cell membranes, liposomes are widely used as delivery systems for both water-soluble and fat-soluble compounds.

The brochure also compares LIPOSOMAX® with products described as pseudo-liposomal. Transmission electron microscopy images show LIPOSOMAX® samples with relatively uniform, hollow, spherical structures, while the comparison samples appear more irregular, aggregated, or without clearly defined vesicle membranes. The manufacturer presents this structural evidence as a way to distinguish genuine liposome formation from simple mixtures of nutrients, fatty acids, oils, or emulsifying ingredients.
