Brand Introduction | Purity, Science and Trust
PURENESS LiNK recognizes the nutritional needs of every stage of life. Guided by our brand philosophy, “Nutrition Science Designed for Efficient Utilization,” we provide trusted nutritional options suitable for daily supplementation.
We believe that truly effective nutritional supplementation involves more than simply providing nutrients in specified amounts. It should also take into account pathophysiological mechanisms recognized in Western medicine, ingredient-specific evidence and scientific research, formulations incorporating functional food ingredients authorized by original manufacturers in Europe, the United States and Japan, and the actual user experience. From ingredient selection to product manufacturing, PURENESS LiNK maintains a professional and meticulous approach, helping consumers of different ages and lifestyles find suitable ways to meet their daily nutritional needs.
Ingredient Technology | UltraChrome® Sucrosomial® Chromium
This product provides 200 mcg of elemental chromium per capsule. It features UltraChrome® Sucrosomial® Chromium from the Italian manufacturer PharmaNutra. Chromium picolinate is used as the source of trivalent chromium and is combined with sucrose esters, plant-based phospholipids, pregelatinized rice starch and other formulation components to create a Sucrosomial® delivery system.
Each capsule provides:
- 200 mcg of elemental chromium
- Chromium in the form of chromium picolinate
- 2 mg of plant-based lecithin
- A Sucrosomial® microencapsulated formulation
- An acid-resistant vegan capsule
What Is Sucrosomial® Technology?
Sucrosomial® Technology is a microencapsulated nutrient-delivery system. Its central concept is to combine a nutrient with sucrose esters and a plant-based phospholipid matrix, forming a fine structure known as a Sucrosome®.
The formulation used in this product contains chromium picolinate, sucrose esters of fatty acids, sunflower lecithin, pregelatinized rice starch, calcium phosphate and rice flour. It is designed to:
- Disperse chromium evenly throughout the formulation matrix
- Reduce direct exposure of chromium to the external environment
- Support passage of the formulation through the gastric environment
- Support release in the small intestine and subsequent absorption
- Help maintain formulation stability and everyday tolerability
- Provide a plant-based source of phospholipids
Technically, Sucrosomial® Technology is more accurately described as a sucrose ester-phospholipid microencapsulation system. It is not identical to a conventional liposome formed primarily from a phospholipid bilayer vesicle.
Sucrosomial® Technology is a nutrient-formulation and delivery system. It does not guarantee a particular absorption rate, physiological result or therapeutic effect and is not a substitute for a balanced diet.
What Is Trivalent Chromium?
Chromium can occur in several chemical oxidation states. Nutritional supplements use trivalent chromium, or Cr(III). This product provides trivalent chromium in the form of chromium picolinate.
Trivalent chromium is different from hexavalent chromium, or Cr(VI), which is associated with certain industrial and occupational exposures. Hexavalent chromium is not a nutritional ingredient, and the two forms should not be confused.
Chromium is commonly classified as a trace mineral in nutrition, although its essentiality and precise physiological mechanisms remain subjects of scientific discussion. The physiological function permitted for chromium in Taiwan is that chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal carbohydrate metabolism.
Absorption and Metabolism of Chromium | Limited Absorption, Protein Transport and Urinary Elimination
The intestinal absorption of conventional trivalent chromium is generally low. It may be influenced by its chemical form, the amount consumed at one time, food constituents, the gastrointestinal environment and individual physiological differences.
The overall pathway of orally consumed chromium may be summarized as follows:
- Consumption and capsule disintegration → passage through the gastric environment → release in the small intestine → limited intestinal absorption → binding to plasma proteins such as transferrin and albumin → transport to the liver, bone and other tissues → elimination primarily through urine.
Sucrosomial® Technology is designed to combine chromium with a matrix of sucrose esters and phospholipids, supporting passage through the gastric environment and release in the small intestine. Actual utilisation may nevertheless vary according to diet, health status, kidney function, medication use and individual physiology.
No single fully validated test can use chromium concentrations in blood, urine, hair or nails to determine the long-term chromium status of an otherwise healthy individual accurately.
Physiological Function and Scientific Background | Normal Carbohydrate Metabolism
The following information describes the normal nutritional function and scientific background of chromium. It does not indicate that this product can lower blood glucose, treat diabetes, reverse insulin resistance, promote weight loss, burn fat or prevent disease.
1. Contributes to Normal Carbohydrate Metabolism
According to the nutrient-related physiological function statement published by the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration:
Chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal carbohydrate metabolism.
Dietary carbohydrates are digested into glucose and other simple sugars. Their subsequent transport and utilisation are regulated by hormones, cellular transport proteins, the liver, skeletal muscle and numerous metabolic enzymes.
Chromium may participate in biochemical processes associated with insulin signalling and cellular glucose utilisation. However, no single complete mechanism has been established that explains its activity in all human physiological circumstances.
2. Research on Insulin Signalling
A historical hypothesis proposes that trivalent chromium may interact with a low-molecular-weight chromium-binding substance known as chromodulin and thereby modulate insulin-receptor signalling. More recent cell and animal studies have investigated possible relationships between chromium, mitochondrial ATP synthase, AMPK and cellular energy signalling.
These studies help explain potential biochemical pathways but do not demonstrate that an oral chromium supplement will necessarily lower blood glucose or improve a medical condition.
3. Human Research Has Produced Inconsistent Findings
Chromium has been studied in relation to glycaemic control, blood lipids, body weight, body composition, metabolic syndrome and polycystic ovary syndrome. Results have been inconsistent, and average effects have generally been small or of limited clinical importance.
Differences between studies may be associated with:
- Baseline diet and metabolic status
- The presence or absence of diabetes or insulin resistance
- The chemical form and amount of chromium used
- Study duration
- Concurrent medication use
Differences in body weight, age, kidney function and lifestyle
This product is therefore not a substitute for diabetes medication, insulin, dietary management, regular physical activity or other medical treatment.
